Mandalyns Bell was originally formed by guitarist Ryan Earley and drummer Anthony Marrujo in October of 2006. After going through many line-up changes, the band acquired bassist Jonny Anderson in June of 2007, Vocalist Anthony Viscusi in March of 2008, and lead guitarist Edward Ashburn III in January of 2009.
With music that could only be described as straight up metal, Mandalyns Bell's songs also feature catchy choruses and a plethora of vocal styles. Drawing influences from bands like, Killswitch Engage, Soilwork, The Black Dahlia Murder and Unearth, Mandalyns Bell brings many different styles of metal together to create their unique and distinct sound.
Mandalyns Bell has shared the stage with many notable acts such as Austrian Death Machine, Whitechapel, It Dies Today, Bring Me The Horizon, Bury Your Dead, As Blood Runs Black, Impending Doom, Blood Stands Still, The Human Abstract, Rose Funeral, Abigail Williams, The Facleess, and Animosity. The band considers their meet and greet signing at Hot Topic in Victorville and the packed benefit show in memory of a murdered friend as some of their greatest highlights of their blossoming music career.
While driving around one day, the band spotted a memorial cross on the side of the road with the name Mandalyn Bell on it. Intrigued by this display, they researched and found a story about a 4-year-old girl who had tragically passed away in a car accident. Touched and inspired by her story, the band decided to name their band after her as a constant reminder that life is too short, and to make every second count.
They also plan to head back into the studio in June to record their yet-to-be titled EP. "The songs are by far the most complicated yet heavy material this band has written yet," says vocalist Anthony Viscusi. "These last couple months have shaped up the lyrical content." "It's all real life experiences and struggles in relationships both romantic and platonic."
With their unique brand of metal, an intense live show, and heavy new material that is their best to date, Mandalyns Bell are ready to solidify themselves and make their mark in the metal scene.
