Star Wars Zero Company Release Date Announced

Star Wars Zero Company

Star Wars and XCOM fans are buzzing! We finally have a release date for the highly anticipated tactical strategy game Star Wars Zero Company.

Following a brief pre-show leak, publisher Electronic Arts, along with developers Bit Reactor and Respawn Entertainment, officially confirmed during Summer Game Fest that the game will launch on August 27, 2026.

The single-player, turn-based tactics game will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (via both Steam and the Epic Games Store). Surprising PlayStation didn’t try and squeeze this in in the State of Play.

Star Wars Zero Company

Set during the chaotic twilight of the Clone Wars era, Star Wars Zero Company puts players in the boots of Hawks, a former Galactic Republic officer.

You are tasked with leading an unconventional, customisable squad of mercenaries, misfits, and operatives recruited from across the galaxy to fight an emerging threat.

Developed by a team at Bit Reactor featuring seasoned XCOM veterans (including director Greg Foertsch) the game aims to blend deep, grid-based tactical combat with high-stakes mechanics.

Notably, the game features a permadeath system for your squad mates, leaning heavily into the narrative theme that “Star Wars is about loss.”

However, it isn’t just a menu-heavy strategy clone. Outside of combat, players will be able to explore the galaxy in a third-person action style, driving a story-centric experience that developers have compared to RPG-heavy frameworks like Mass Effect or Baldur’s Gate 3.

Familiar faces, including Jedi General Anakin Skywalker, are also confirmed to make appearances.

Star Wars Zero Company is set up for massive success, with all the right components there to make it something quite special.

Pricing and Pre-Order Tiers

Electronic Arts has opted for a tiered pricing structure that slightly favours PC players over console users. Pre-orders are officially open across all platforms:

  • PC (Steam/Epic Games Store): $49.99 for the Standard Edition / $59.99 for the Deluxe Edition.
  • Consoles (PS5/Xbox Series X/S): $59.99 for the Standard Edition / $69.99 for the Deluxe Edition.

While the digital-only Deluxe Edition won’t offer early access, it comes packed with extensive cosmetic rewards.

According to the official Steam listing, pre-purchasing the Deluxe Edition unlocks the “Grand Army of the Republic” cosmetic pack (featuring Republic Officer, 100th Clone Company, and ARC Trooper armour sets), a “Shadow Collective” pack (complete with a Pyke exo-helmet and syndicalist faction tattoos), and five distinct weapon theme sets.

A Smart Scheduling Move

Dropping on August 27 puts Star Wars Zero Company in an enviable position.

The late August slot allows the game to get ahead of an incredibly dense September 2026 release calendar, which already boasts massive heavy-hitters like Marvel’s Wolverine, Dune: Awakening, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4, and The Blood of Dawnwalker.

Star Wars Zero Company arrives August 27, 2026.
