If you’re looking for the ultimate breakdown of Kenjaku’s twisted masterpiece, you’ve come to the right place. The Culling Game isn’t just a tournament; it’s a systematic slaughterhouse designed to drag humanity into its next, terrifying stage of evolution. Here is everything you need to know about the chaos currently consuming Japan in Jujutsu Kaisen.
This is the second piece of what we hope to be ongoing anime content! Take a read and let us know what you think. We’ll be sure to come back with more Jujutsu Kaisen content, plus plenty of other great series!

The Core Aim of the Game
Kenjaku isn’t doing this for the thrills in Jujutsu Kaisen. The entire Culling Game is a massive, nation-wide ritual intended to prep the population for the “Merger.”
By trapping sorcerers and newly awakened humans inside barriers known as Colonies, Kenjaku has created a self-sustaining engine of Cursed Energy.
As players kill one another, the sheer volume of spent energy primes the people of Japan to fuse with Master Tengen. The end goal is a singular, transcendent entity that would effectively end humanity as we know it.
Jujutsu Kaisen has always been deadly, but the stakes feel even higher now.
The Rules of the Game
In Jujutsu Kaisen, the game is governed by a set of iron-clad rules that carry the weight of a Binding Vow. If a player fails to follow these mandates, they face “Cursed Technique Removal,” which is a fancy way of saying their brain gets fried and they die.
The first rule requires awakened sorcerers to declare their participation at a specific colony within nineteen days. If they refuse, they are eliminated.
Rule three states that any non-player who wanders into a colony immediately becomes a participant, meaning there are no innocent bystanders once you cross that line.
Scoring is where things get bloody in this latest arc of Jujutsu Kaisen. Players earn points by taking lives, with a sorcerer being worth five points and a non-sorcerer worth one.
According to the fifth rule, the “Game Master” sets these values based on the victim’s worth.
The sixth and seventh rules are the most critical for strategy, allowing any player to spend one hundred points to add a brand-new rule to the game, provided it doesn’t fundamentally break the match. Finally, the eighth rule keeps the pace lightning-fast; if a player’s score stays the same for fifteen days, they are purged.
Rule 1: Participation Awakened sorcerers must declare participation at a colony of their choice within 19 days.
Rule 2: Refusal Any player who breaks Rule 1 shall be subject to Cursed Technique removal (death).
Rule 3: Non-Players If a person enters a colony, they become a “player” and are considered to have declared participation.
Rule 4: Scoring Players score points by killing other players. (5 pts for a sorcerer, 1 pt for a non-sorcerer).
Rule 5: Point Value Points are determined by the “Game Master,” but generally refer to the life value of the victim.
Rule 6: Rule Addition A player can spend 100 points to add a new rule to the game.
Rule 7: Rule Veto – The Game Master must accept any proposed rule unless it significantly disrupts the game’s continuity.
Rule 8: Longevity If a player’s score remains the same for 15 days, they face Cursed Technique removal.

How the Game Helps Free Gojo
While the game serves Kenjaku’s evolution plot, it also provides the only tactical window for our heroes to retrieve the world of JuJutsu Kaisen’s strongest sorcerer. Satoru Gojo is currently cooling his heels inside the Prison Realm, and while Kenjaku holds the “Front” gate, Master Tengen has possession of the “Back.” The catch is that the Back is sealed tighter than a vault, and it requires a specific Cursed Technique to peel it open.
The mission within the game is two-fold. First, the team needs to track down a player known as “The Angel,” also known as Hana Kurusu. Her innate technique, Jacob’s Ladder, has the unique property of nullifying any cursed object or barrier, making her the literal key to the Prison Realm.
Second, the group must use the point system to add rules that facilitate communication and movement between the isolated colonies. By manipulating the game’s own mechanics, the protagonists can locate Hana, secure her cooperation, and finally blast Gojo back into the land of the living.
Jujutsu Kaisen is one of our favourite current series, and whilst we love others like Chainsaw Man and Demon Slayer. They don’t hit in the same way.
