007 First Light: Extended Operations is here

007 First Light

IO Interactive has officially launched Extended Operations, a massive free DLC update (Patch 1.3.0) for 007 First Light across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Following the game’s stellar debut in May and passing the four-million-sales milestone, this latest content drop gives players a reason to step back into the shoes of a young James Bond with new mission content, vehicular combat, highly requested community features, and over 700 performance fixes.

One of our favourite games of the year. We’ve been looking for a good reason to maybe play through it again, and Extended Operations brings us exactly that! This is legitimately exciting, and moreover, IOI are doing what they do and dropping it all at no additional cost.

Valhalla Protocol & New Operations

The headliner of the update is Valhalla Protocol, a high-octane Tactical Simulation (TacSim) activity that finally lets players push IO Interactive’s driving mechanics to their limits.

Set along the winding mountain roads of Slovakia, players jump into the driver’s seat of the Aston Martin Valhalla. Equipped with mounted turrets and missiles, you will race against the clock and battle rival vehicles across four track variations with global leader board support.

With Valhalla Protocol having been advertised in-game as “coming soon” since day one. This will hopefully calm a few folk down.

For stealth and espionage purists, the update introduces a brand-new story mission, Operation Jungle Heist. Set at The Pearl hotel nestled in the lush landscapes of Vietnam, Bond must infiltrate a heavily guarded tropical villa, crack a secure safe to steal classified documents, and make a cinematic rooftop escape.

Extended Operations, indeed!

New Game+, ’00’ Difficulty, and Gadget Swapping

Players looking for a replay incentive can dive straight into New Game+, which allows you to restart the campaign while keeping unlocked outfits and cosmetic gear.

Key additions in Update 1.3.0 include:

’00’ Difficulty: A punishing new difficulty tier designed for veteran agents, featuring aggressive enemy AI, lower health pools, and heightened guard awareness.

On-the-Fly Gadget Swapping: Bond can now switch load-outs dynamically during missions rather than being locked to pre-mission selections, opening up flexible tactical approaches.

Full-Featured Photo Mode: Virtual photographers get access to an extensive suite of camera controls, focal adjustments, lighting filters, and character poses.

Enhanced Combat Dynamics: Weapon handling animations have been overhauled for smoother reloads and swaps, while melee encounters carry higher stakes—enemies can now throw Bond off ledges during close-quarters combat.

Extended Operations is bringing so much change, it’s actually crazy. Whilst the ‘00’ difficulty might prove to be a significant challenge, we’re more excited about photo mode. 007 First Light is a stunning game and getting more than just generic screenshots is going to be a treat! Expect a lot to appear here.

New Arsenal, Outfits, and MI6’s Newest Mascot

The Extended Operations update also brings new equipment and unlocks:

Weapons: The Storm 12 Gauge shotgun and the long-range Squire Marksman Rifle.

Outfits: Three new threads including Observant Spy, Leisure Beam, and First Class.

Base Camp Addition: Meet Jack, a friendly dog who now serves as MI6’s official HQ mascot.

The big question surrounding Extended Operations will have to be “can you pet the dog?”. We need to know asap, and it’ll be one of the first things we try to do.
